On February 26 th, 2008 at the Factory in Franklin, 318 guests honored and celebrated as 28 Volunteer of the Year award recipients, elected by the community’s leading health charities, were recognized, in addition to Dr. Karen Rhea of Centerstone, nominated by her peers, who was given the 2008 Leadership Award for her outstanding achievements in the health and medical industry.

This was the first time Community Health Charities hosted an event of its kind, which will now become an annual event. Janet M. Feulner, Executive Director said “this event reflects the importance of our volunteers who have given so much of their time and talents to advance our charities missions and at the same time, allows us an opportunity to pay tribute to individuals from the community- at- large who have made great strides in the health and medical industry. These people truly are our heroes, our Champions in Health.”
